An inauspicious start

February 28, 2007 at 7:22 pm (Music, YouTube)

Having started NBNC (I like that abbreviation!) today, I am unfortunately completely uninspired to write about today’s news. There’s absolutely nothing grabbing me. What a perfect start!

So, instead, I’ll tell you about The Black Keys last night. They started a two-night stay at the Shepherds Bush Empire last night, which I was fortunate enough to attend (thanks Gabs!). While acoustics and the dire dire Warlocks-wannabe support band didn’t exactly inspire confidence, the Keys were fantastic. That two people (apart from The White Stripes) can create such a racket, tuneful and blues-washed, as they did was frightening: Dan Auerbach’s guitar playing was gritty and crunchy, a move away from the cleaner sounds on record. Highlights for me were 10AM Automatic and a raucous Stack Shot Billy.

In short – if you’ve got tickets tonight, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

A hale and hearty hello

February 27, 2007 at 1:35 pm (Uncategorized)

New blogs, eh? I bet you get pissed off with the hundreds and thousands of them that launch each and every day. I see that even centagenarians have blogs now, so who am I not to join in?!I could be studious and write about work, or irreverent and write about something else completely.

I could even be autobiographical and write about me, but that’s all a bit vain really isn’t it? So, this is a blog about anything and everything. From football to music to marketing, anything that tickles my fancy.
